DISCOVER THE ISLAND

A vacation on the Green Island offers a multitude of possibilities to explore, including trails, beaches, wineries and museums.

OUR EXCURSIONS.

Hiking for trekking lovers, a Vespa ride in the footsteps of the Dolce Vita for those who love the Italian lifestyle, visiting wineries and farms for food and wine enthusiasts, and so much more the Island of Ischia has to offer. And we at OraBlu will be happy to guide Guests to discover our rich and generous land.

On the foothills of MONTE EPOMEO.

From Serrara to Fontana. We start from the wood of Frassitelli, a terrace of dense acacia trees with a panorama of Forio.

The undergrowth is the wild rabbit’s realm.

We continue to Falanga, a chestnut forest where you can find typical stone houses, snow pits and ancient “palmenti” dug in the green tuff, a typical local stone. We will climb steeply until we reach a track that leads to Pietra dell’Acqua.

We have now reached the crest of Epomeo, Punta San Nicola (789m), where there is a hermitage carved into the huge boulder of green tuff that makes up the summit itself.

From this point begins the downhill walk that will take us to a typical restaurant, we will taste local dishes accompanied by Biancolella wine and enjoy a well-deserved rest, perhaps lying in a hammock.

The paths of BIANCOLELLA

Ischia, Campagnano. By many peoples’ accounts, the most beautiful trail there is. We will start from the village of Campagnano and climb up “the middle towers” with a splendid view of the Gulf of Naples to the abandoned village of Piano Liguori.

We will walk among vegetable gardens and vineyards overlooking the sea until we reach the spectacular overlook of the mythical Bay of Sgarrupata. We will continue along this wonderful path carved into the tuff, among lapilli deposits and ancient ash.

After some well-deserved relaxation and a lunch of homegrown products and local wine, we will return along one of the island’s oldest roads.

Discovering PIZZI BIANCHI

By walking among Pizzi Bianchi and then soaking in the Roman baths of Cavascura and enjoying an aperitif in Sant’Angelo at sunset.

A unique experience on the island of Ischia among nature, history and thermal waters. Our hike starts from the Greek village of Noja between Serrara and Fontana and then descends down into the Pizzi Bianchi canyon, columnar clay formations reminiscent of the most famous badlands of Cappadocia (Turkey).

A trekking route among wild plants and ancient hand-carved cellars.

Along the descent we will be accompanied by wonderful views of terraced vineyards until we reach the ancient Roman Baths of Cavascura where we will stop for a sauna and a rejuvenating bath. Our final destination is the village of Sant’Angelo.

The secret paradise of PELARA

We will set off on a path from the heart of the village of Panza which will lead us through a dense grove of holm oaks and heather, to the top of Pelara Bay, a remarkable geological site, from where there is a view of the strata. The descent is introduced by a steep staircase with wooden steps carved into the tuff leading to a wall of pumice, ash and lapilli. In addition to the typical coastal vegetation, the presence of wild orchids is of particular naturalistic interest.

Walking back along the path, we will take the detour to Monte di Panza, from where we will be able to admire a marvelous panorama that sweeps from Capri to Sant’Angelo to the magical bay of Sorgeto. The hike will end in one of the island’s most beautiful wineries with a unique view of the bay, famous for its natural hot water pools
